Aegis awarded 6 grants via DHCS as part of California efforts to combat opioid epidemic in rural areas

Effective 8/1/17 Aegis has been awarded 6 regional grants to help Californians combat the opioid epidemic we all face in our State. Using the proven Vermont “Hub and Spoke” model, the Department of Healthcare Services or DHCS awarded grants to Aegis to expand access to and funding for patients using our Redding, Chico, Marysville, Roseville and Manteca clinics as hubs. Aegis on panel in Humboldt County Town Hall on opioid epidemic

On Tuesday 11/14, Aegis CEO Alex Dodd joined other experts in the field at a packed and emotional Town Hall meeting in Eureka, Humboldt County, to discuss solutions to the County's Opioid epidemic. 350 members of the public were present at the Town Hall meeting, convened by State Senator Mike McGuire and Board of Supervisor Virginia Bass. Together with local participants, Aegis made up a panel of experts who spoke about the epidemic and current and future efforts to deal with the epidemic. Aegis Launches ” Waiting Lives Matter ” Campaign

Aegis has launched a “Waiting lives matter” campaign to bring awareness to all communities where people who suffer from Opioid Use Disorder are not able to access treatment for the disease. No one should have to wait for treatment, whether this be because there is a waiting list at their local clinic, or because the nearest access point for treatment is too far away for them to access.  “Waiting Lives Matter” of course plays on the “Black Lives Matter” campaign that rose up after the Ferguson shootings in 2014.
